ATSEA-2 Theory of Change (Simplified Ver.)

The resultant ToC is intended to provide a better understanding of the causal links between different elements of the project and of the regional SAP, thereby guiding the development of the existing ATS SAP Monitoring System in 2022 towards a simpler, more focused SMART monitoring system.

ACTIVITY REPORT FOR THE 4th INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON INTEGRATED COASTAL MANAGEMENT AND MARINE BIOTECHNOLOGY

The report summarises the 4th ICMMBT International Conference held in Bali from September 12-13, 2023, with over 200 participants from 15 countries. Organised by the ATSEA-2 Project, it featured a Plenary Session showcasing ATSEA-2’s initiatives in science-policy links for biodiversity and governance support, along with various parallel sessions and workshops covering marine pollution, community empowerment, MPA management, turtle conservation, and more. The event comprised 17 parallel sessions, 6 Keynote presentations, and 1 Plenary Session, with over 150 paper presentations sharing insights on integrated coastal management and marine biotechnology. A field visit to the Turtle Conservation and Education Center on September 14 provided participants with insights into sea turtle conservation challenges and solutions.

Transboundary Diagnostic Analysis for the Arafura and Timor Seas (ATS) Region

PROCEEDINGS OF THE 2023 INTERSESSIONAL RSC MEETING

The 2023 Intersessional Meeting of the ATSEA-2 Regional Steering Committee focused on reviewing and endorsing the project extension, including revised work plans and budgets. It aimed to finalise the Regional Governance Mechanism model for the Arafura and Timor Seas, providing guidance on the Investment and Financing Strategy and Plan. The meeting also discussed the progress in updating the Strategic Action Program and sought updates on the Regional EAFM Plan for Red Snapper. Participants included representatives from Australia, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Timor-Leste, UNDP, and PEMSEA, highlighting a collaborative effort towards sustainable marine and coastal management in the region.
